We’ve been sadly informed that Brent Bolton, after recently retiring from the HSE, passed away last Thursday after succumbing to cancer and follows a number of health issues that he has overcome over the years. Many ILLAPG members would have known Brent, who attended many lifting sector meetings as the HSE representative but was also instrumental in supporting the President, Dave Borley in creating what has become the ILLAPG.
Brent’s legacy is his unstinting work in raising safety standards for plant and lifting operations, representing the HSE on and being an integral part of many working groups. He was always willing to offer practical advice and guidance in helping the lifting sector in general to meet its safety obligations in a calm and concise way. It goes without saying that Brent will be sorely missed, but we can reflect on the great legacy that he has left.
We have asked to be kept informed of the funeral and other arrangements and will post when we have more details. We will make further arrangements to honour his achievements and impacts on the plant sector.
The ILLAPG pass on their condolences to his Family and colleagues.
